York House is situated 150 yards from the sea and overlooks tennis courts, bowling green and mini golf course. The care home is well established and has been run by the same family for over 30 years in the heart of Swanage.
The owners take a genuine pride and interest in the daily running of the home, resulting in a close knit feel amongst staff and residents.
The ethos of the home is to work closely with the residents and their family members to create a tailor made care plan to suit their individual needs and requirements.
We can cater for 34 male or female residents, for either long term or short term respite care. The care home has 31 bedrooms, 20 of which have en-suite facilities. Facilities within the care home include daily activities, library and laundry. We can arrange appointments for additional services including a hairdresser, chiropodist and optometrist.
Our kitchen staff will cater for all tastes and cultures to provide well balanced and nutritional meals served within our sunny dining room. We also encourage residents to bring with them personal effects, such as photographs, favourite pictures and special ornaments.
Visitors are welcome at any time of the day, and encouraged to attend any open days for fund raising events throughout the year.

Privacy and delivering high quality, compassionate care with friendly , fully trained staff with high levels of skill and understanding to meet the particular care needs of all our residents. We use a holistic approach when carrying out our assessments with residents to ensure we can meet their needs.
Our staff are trained to a high standard and the home is supported by local district nurses and GP’s to allow us to successfully cater for and look after residents on either end of life or palliative care.
